I picked up a set of wheels recently but have not been able to identify them. Here is what I know. The seller said he bought these wheels from a private individual in Japan while stationed there in the early 80's. He stated that they were considered vintage at that point. The size is 4 X 114.3 X 5.5. I know from the castings that they are JDM wheels and they were made by Almex/Yokohama Rubber Company. The only other clues are the letters "JJ" associated with the size and the number 25 (offset maybe). the last number/letter clue is YSE455-1. I would be very grateful if anyone has any knowledge they can pass along. The wheels are in nearly perfect condition and are beautifully designed. These will likely end up on my 1967 1/2 Fairlady Roadster.

I'm going to start by teasing out the relavent info, so bear with me if it seems obvious.

The 4x114.3 is your bolt pattern.

25 is the offset as you noted

the 5.5 is likely the width. I don't see any diamater info?

the JJ is a standard marking denoting the bead type. Doesn't help us any.

Basically, not nearly enough info to identify the wheels.

Google image search for "Almex jdm wheels" brings up several hella rad looking wheels. I'd love to see a photo of the ones you have!

Pretty sure Almex was a precursor to Advan. Pics would definitely help.

They almost look like they could be Magnesium. Pretty neat and definitely unique.
