 Post subject: What is needed to install a windshiel?

I removed my old windshield yesterday cause it was cracked and there is some rust underneath I wanted to remove.

My question is, what chemicals/adhesives do I need to install my new one? Anything aside from that?

I still need to check the gasket thing around the new windshield also.

What does it say to do in the service manual?

Anyway, I'd get some of the black silicone for windows. Its usually at places like NAPA/Riebes.

I ended up finding the stuff and getting the winshield installed. It is held in place so I am happy. Not sure on the quality of my install, but the car will never see wet weather, so I am not concerned.

I have heard of people using 3m Window weld, which is a urethane :wink:
