In the middle of the POR 15 process as we start. I cleaned/prepped the metal today. Hit it with the air hose for about 20 minutes before I had to call it quits. Tank is sitting tonight, will be finishing the dry tomorrow and sealing. I'll let you know how it goes. I think as long as you follow the instructions and don't clog up the tubes the process should be pretty bombproof. I know the frustration of not being able to drive your car because the tank is all nasty and keeps clogging up the fuel filter
For $75, I think POR 15 kit might be the best way to go, depending on the extent of nastiness of course. my tank isn't too bad. Before I used the marine clean in the kit though, I soaked the tank overnight with a gallon of vinegar, a box of rock salt, and 2 liters of coke. Might have used more coke. I remember as a kid playing around with that stuff and rusty pennies. Good luck getting your RX on the road!
