Chaps,

I've got 4 RX-4 wheel centre caps like these ones:



now mine aren't shiny, they've got 30+ years of road crud on them.

Kev and others, could I use something like a mothers powerball and some sort of stainless (are they stainless or just chromed pot metal/cast aluminum?) steel cleaner and just polish them up?

I sat down last night in front of the tv and gave them a clean by hand, it took a few hours but I started to move most of the crud off them, but I can't get to the deeper stuff in the hard to get areas.

Also, should the rotor symbol be painted red?[/img]

powerball and mother polish work better than anything in my opinion

Yes mate, the rx-4 version of the cap had a red centre and the 929 of the same vintage had the blue centre.
