anyone know if the face of toscos are "softer" than faces on other rims like how ssr mk1 faces are soft?

Well anything made out of any sort of aluminium / magnesium alloy is going to be softer than the steel wheel nut. That would be why there is a recess in the wheel to take the washer part of the nut to spread the load across a wider area.

anyways the lug nuts on the yahoo auctions you posted on my other thread look like "celica-supra" lugs.
here are some pics from my wheels.


the recesses match the size of the washers on the celica supra lug nuts and the outer on the back of the rim matches the shank part of the celica supra lug nut.
i wonder if i can can find a good wheel shop to widen the hole so i can use the celi s00p lugs. i don't want to ruin the rims by using tuner style lug nuts.
any other feedback would be very much apperciated.

Do your wheels have a tapered chamfer to take a conventional type wheel nut? If so, perhaps they have had inserts made for them?

yeah it looks like there are inserts. and has tapered chamfers.
i was able to mount them on my car using conical lugs. but took them off a couple days later cuz i didnt want to damage them.
