a while back i picked up a set of wheels off a early 80's 280ZX. what are these things? the center caps say appliance. they are 15x7 there is what looks to be a date stamped 4-14-88. there is a WD stamped in the back. any help would be appreciated!! these are all of the stamps and symbols i can find aside from the load weight limit rating. they look more like Dunlop or Volk mesh wheels to me. Definitely not SSRs, as the central "star" pattern around the stud holes is different.

do they have the JWL logo stamped on them anywhere? This will tell you if they are imported from Japan. If they don't have them, they're most likely copies that were made in the States or somewhere else.

The D.O.T. stamping on the back of the wheel is a clear indicator that they are American, not japanese.

I believe that Appliance Wheels are a american brand who made a range of alloys based on japanese designs, seems to be plenty of refernce to them on club4a.com, perhaps look there for more info
