Hi there, recently joined up and someone was asking for pics of my Mk1 Fiesta so thought I'd post up what I have atm.

I am fully aware that 'this thread is useless without pics' but I cant access my photobucket from work so will upload them when I get home unkless I can find sum aleady on another forum! If I didnt do this now I'd never do it.

Daily Drive - 1999 Nissan 200sx S14a (UK Touring model)


Dyno'd today - Standard 200.8 bhp - V.reliable healthy engine it seems.


Standard apart from Blitz Nur Spec-R Catback system. Plans for a set of wheels and FMIC and thats it as I have other goals in mind and dont want to waste my money.

Current Project - 1982 Mk1 XR2 Fiesta. + My mates which soon became a donor car














No Newer recent pics - newest there is about a yr ago. Need to finish off the welding now ready for paint.

Owned it about 4yrs now but have recently moved away and looking to buy a house so it's sat in a lockup 400 miles away awaiting my new place with my own garage!

Engine Spec:
-Rebored Block to +0.090" Giving approx 1690cc with a 0.003" skirt clearence.
-Forged Pistons with M/C Pockets to 0.180" Deep
-Crank Shaft ground to +0.010 (Big end) -Barings = VPM91142 & VPR819 VP2 Material
-1 Kent KC 244 Camshaft with followers
-big valve head with 1.625 inlet & 1.320 Exhaust with Kent VS 7 Springs and valve caps & Lead free inserts (runs on Shell Optimax)
-high pressure oil pump, 20PSI oil switch,
-Lightened flywheel, EBC clutch kit

full balance = crank, rods, pistons, flywheel, clutch, 8 ARP 2000 Competition Big end bolts. Competition 4-2-1 manifold and exhaust, Webber twin 40 carbs with, lumenition power pack (optronic), aldon dizzy, magnecor KV85 leads, NGK plug set, facet fuel pump, filter king regulator, electrical cut off switch, cooling system (pressurised). Rebuilt 4 speed gearbox with viscous lsd

Little Pocket Rocket to be honest. Great out on a nice day round the country lanes or a track!

Previous Daily drive - 1996 Ford Fiesta Mk4. Fitted with a 1.7 Ford Puma engine. Lovely nippy little thing. Now for sale.


Just sold this little gem. 1987 Volvo 360 Saloon 2.0 GLT. Quite rare in saloon form. 60k miles and it drives like new.


2001 Ford Racing Puma Ltd Ed. No.471 of 500. Fantastic FWD car. handles great. Bought as a repair job as I didnt want to see it go for scrap and recently sold it to a friend I see regularly, but he's crashed it, twice! Eurgh!


















But all that fades into the background right now. I have plans to import a KGC10 GTR 'Clone'. Still need to get afew things sorted but trying to get as much info as possible together prior to jumping in and getting some part of it very wrong. For a start I need to clear some space for it...

I absolutely love early Fiestas. Any more pictures/info on it?

Hi mate - thanks. I have a fair bit of info, again everything is accessable from home PC but not work, will give afew more details and pics when I get home.

I have a full history on the car including names and address of all previous owners - unfortunately 13 previous owners so its been about abit, but being stripped back to bare shell and rebuilding the engine means mostof the previous abuse should be rectified. I had a HUGE folder with receipts etc of all parts and the engine rebuild details but for the life of me I cant find it anywhere at the moment. Thankfully most details have been saved elsewhere so I dont forget.

Its a long term project that I planned to do as and when but its not local to me right now. I decided aganist an acid dip or shot blasting. To me, the car isnt worth investing the money in that sort of detailed rebuild and for the use it got/will get, its bound to take afew more knocks and bumps. It's not a trailer queen going to car shows, its designed to be used and have some fun with it. I can feel comfortable about pushing it on a track or hill climb event because if I smash it up, parts aswell as shells are still easy to get hold of. They are rare, but not 'that' rare.

Being a Ford man, I absolutely love the Fiesta and Racing Puma.. poor Puma.. I wish I can find a Mk1 XR2 here, they did bring in a few back in the days but I've never seen one. Only ever saw a Mk2 Fiesta, must be a personal import.

I'm now collecting bits for a Mk1 Escort - Mexico/RS clocks, type 49 front arch repair etc. Had Mk2s before, lots of bit left over but you'll never find RS bits here, everything needs to be imported.

I have afew friends with Mk1 and 2 escorts. Love the Mk2 RS2000. Was very tempted by one but really want to get a KGC10. Have wanted a GTR for awhile and when I was younger I assumed the Coupe shape was just the GTR's and nothing else at quite a price too. But now I realise you can get GT's and GT-X's as GTR Clones and in some cases produce more power and have more oppourtunities to modifiy them without the risk of ruining a genuine GTR example. So the search is on for a solid car and the right things done, so when I can get one back to the UK anything I need is the easy stuff.

Prior to the Mk4 Fiesta I had a Mk5 with a Racing Puma engine. Was my 1st car and loved it, until I crashed it.










4 yrs ago now. Think it was a blessing in diguise before I wasted anymore money on it haha

good lord.. that Puma is amazing.. especially with the flaps.. just wow.. some of the cars that i just wish we had here..

Import one!! lol There are prices varying from £4,000-£10,000 GBP for the racing puma. They had one in san fransisco for a promotional advert when it came out. It came back to the UK again though lol

Although a JNC nut, i have a slightly newer Fez than yours... here they're called XR4's - ST to you guys............. these were not long after i bought it.

Looks small next to the effy- if you pull up behind the truck quite close, you can't see it in the mirrors.



I have a couple of mates who throw them around the racetrack- full cage etc... It's just like a go-kart.....

Very nice 200SX - that colour is awesome......................

Cheers mate - yeah Damson (purple) is a lvoely colour, seems to be abit rarer than the other colours.

As for the ST I know it well, my mum has a Focus ST500 and the brakes on my Mk4 fiesta are ST front calipers along with ST rear disc conversion from drums.

Good 2.0 Duratec engines, a friend has just put one in a Red Mk4 fiesta with ITB's Got a feature in Performance Ford mag or Fast Ford here in the UK.

That Puma is amazing. I loved those cars, always wished this side of the pond got the well built cool Fords that people actually could appreciate. Looks like you've had/have some very very cool stuff. good taste!

Cheers mate. I've had afew others but nothing i've held onto. More just a bargain that came up and sold on. Altho it doesnt seem like it, i'm not the sort of person to change cars quickly. I like to hold onto them and make the most of them. Not just say 'yeah ive had one of those for all of 5mins' etc
