If it's as straight and rust-free as the seller claims it is, then it might just be worth $8K. But I don't consider that "priced to sell." That's "priced to think long and hard about because there's little chance of someone snaking it out from under me before I make my decision."

That seems to be the high end for a car like that, but for an early Ghia in good shape he may get it. Aircooleds have gotten a resurgence in popularity of late.

There's a few on The Samba for $12k+.

Of course there's quite a few nice examples for $5-7k also. :tu:

So I'd concur with Lincoln Stax, if it's as good as he says it is, it should be "worth" that much to somebody.

I just sold my 74' VW bus for a grand (by word of mouth too)... rusted to hell, leaky camper top, had'nt run in 11 years etc etc

Ive always thought that in some instances, things are worth what people are willing to pay....

If I had 8k, and if that particular ghia was my taste, I'd buy it and be happy with deal.

Here they are worth that and then some. Most good ones are $20,000+ AUD

Bugs are more common, but can get a decent price if they are good, but generally nowhere near the Karmens.
