lol I hear you!!! Heck thanks to a new Lincoln commercial I have Peter Schilling's Major Tom stuck in my head, Found out it was a Shiny Toy Guns cover of the song!

This one?..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3WS_alU8X2Q

Correct me if I am wrong but wasnt Peter Schillings song more of a continuation of the major tom story? The one from the commercial is a straight cover of David Bowies original. Also to further the confusion it is down by a female solo artist named Cat Power, not Shiny Toy Guns.

no it is this one and it is Shiny Toy Guns cause they have it also on their website in the media section too.

here is the commercial http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r_gXXv0M2fE

and yes Major Tom is a sequel to Space Oddity by David Bowie

The Bowie version is a classic. If you can find the B-side version of Space Oddity, it's even creepier than the original.

Bowie himself also made a sequel to SO, Ashes to Ashes, so it's like a trilogy. Don't know how many songs can claim that, lol.

Not only that, but Bowie is the theme to the British T.V. Drama (and its subsequent U.S. adaptaion) "Life on Mars" whos sequel is called "Ashes to Ashes" as well. Great Bowie music scattered throughout each series. If you get a chance to watch either show one is set in '73 and one in '84 so there are some great cars in both!
