Here's my vintage 1970 Tonka 2585 Hydraulic Dump Truck I won off ebay.
Very desireable Tonka toy. You dont see many left in good shape with box. This one was barely played with, hence the condition. There are no significant dents or dings or rust. It was obviously either well-loved or significantly neglected. The 2585 also came in red. Made in U.S.A. Pressed Steel.

Dude! I had one of those growing up, but it did not look near that good. The only Tonka I have, which I am not sure is even a tonka toy, is a pink A100 style pick up. That one looks really nice. I actually like the green better than the red.

Wow that is mint. Mine is called Big Mike, it is similar but has a long nose cab and 2 rams to lift the deck, it is red/orange in colour, but no where near that condition, I heard "Tonka Tough" and took them at their work, It was well loved, and definitely not neglected. I'll try post a picture, he is still a favourite in our house when there are boys around.
I guess I am not a collector, as mine are old well beaten toys, so that must make me a Horder :D The other one I have is a VW Beetle called Twinkle Toes. The Boxes are long gone, probably ripped in the rush to get to the toy.
I will add Photos soon, but you will see they have been well 'Loved'

I dont know how a kid wouldnt play with these back in the day.
Maybe they were only allowed to play indoors ? Maybe they were never let outside to play (over protective parents) or maybe they didnt like trucks ? or maybe they were spoiled and had too many other toys !
I had Tonkas in 1985 and they were destroyed in 1 year !
