I love 1st gen Troopers. I wish I could find a 1st gen ARB Bullbar... :(

Keep the pics coming! I'm planning a full restore for mine this fall. Crate motor, repaint, Line-X, new seats, the works!

That's a tuff looking trooper you have there I want to do something similar with mine one day. I would like to put the later model 2.6 liter in for a bit more torque. But unfortunately it's last on my list of projects. :)

Yeah, over here we got the GM 2.8 V6 in 89/90/91 Troopers. That motor can be swapped out without to much work for a GM 3.4 V6. That's what I did with mine, and it makes a big difference, especially with the lift and 33" tires.

Yeh we have the v6 in the later models also. We also have an abundance of GM 3.8 litre motors which would be prety much the same as the 3.4 you mentioned. That may be with a though also.

Here's mine, a 1984 Chevrolet Trooper with C223 diesel engine.

What will you do with your Jackaroo Zzzzed?

If you want to replace those wheels, consider to sell the hub cap for me :D

That's a nice short wheel base trooper you have there
Nice try on the wheel caps. :) I do have a wider set of rims I will be putting
On when I can afford tires, but I will be transferring the caps over with them. :tu:

 Actually I like to see that Jackaroo in stock condition, including the wheel hub-caps.
The wider rims is the black one? Or you've painted the white original rims?

Putting 2.6L will be a great idea, you can use bigger tires. I always dreaming of changing my C223 with later 4JB1T, but 5speed gearbox and wider rear axle has already made my Trooper run very well.

Preserve it please.. I haven't seen many early '80s Trooper/Jackaroo lately. You and OzLuvTrucker's Jackaroo is one of the oldest that I ever found in the net.

the black rims are the origonal rims painted black. I wont be getting rid of this one and will be maintaining it. i wont change the motor untill this one needs rebuilding. so it will be preserved for many years

Yeah, I am going to do a full "restore" on my Trooper. It really doesn't need it, but I will be getting a real paint job, crate motor, and I will likely go with new wheels painted to match the body, and a few other nice upgrades.

Gotta finishing my Impulse first though.

:) Yeah.. I'm still thinking to complete the restorating process of that blue Trooper. But a glimpse of an Unicab is stealing my dream.

What I have in mind is searching this sign lamp
Image
That sign lamp is looks like Zzzed's and OzLuvTrucker's Jackaroo, you guys maybe can help us with it.

Yup, after I am done with my current 3 Zus, I will be on the hunt for a '89 RS. I want to build a chopped soft top. Nothing like open air on the trail!

Just a update for those interested, got the G200 all back together and running like a dream. I purchased the Jackaroo as a non runner, the head had been removed by the previous owner chasing a water loss issue. I diagnosed the problem within 5 minutes of viewing the Jackaroo when it was listed locally for sale. The telltale signs of a badly leaking heater core were all there when i looked, damp carpet and water trails around the heater box. The bad core was later confirmed when i pulled the carpets to wash them and the wash water turned green. For good measures i had the head checked any how and it passed. I bought a new gasket kit and now the rest is history. :D

Now im all prepared to enter our local 4x4 Muster

Nice work with the engine.
Don't push it too far on the Munster event.
But if you do.. I'll be happy to collect whats left from that Jackaroo

Good Luck :D
