About 3-4 times as many as we currently have specific sections for.

My comment may have been preemptively defensive, but omitting the entire rhetorical statement which answers itself and additionally indicates a grudging acceptance of the status quo expected response, is a little disingenuous.
But...
Minkara Car View (Japanese Facebook for car enthusiasts) has 10:
Lexus, Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Mitsubishi, Mazda, Subaru, Suzuki, Daihatsu, Isuzu
There is no "Other" category, and apparently some obvious ones are missing, with an extra spot for Toyota under its own name as well as Lexus. And Daihatsu has been a part of Toyota for as long as I can remember.
Yahoo Japan used car listings shows 14:
Toyota, Lexus, Nissan, Honda, Mitsubishi, Mazda, Isuzu, Subaru, Suzuki, Daihatsu, Mitsuoka Motors, Hino Motors, TOMIKAIRA, Other domestic models
Again, Lexus is separate. And under "Other" are mostly fork lifts, four wheeler cycles, some mis classified Hino and Datsun, and a "Takeoka Abi" bubble car.
Goo Net used car has 15:
Lexus , Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Mazda, Eunos, Ford Japan, Mitsubishi, Subaru, Daihatsu, Suzuki, Isuzu, Hino, MITSUOKA, Other Japan
Lexus and Mazda's Eunos luxury brand given their own listings. Again, "Other" is mostly fork lifts and four wheelers, plus a "Erekushido".
Car Town used car has 13:
Toyota, Nissan, Mitsubishi, Honda, Mazda, Suzuki, Subaru, Daihatsu, Isuzu, Mitsuoka Motors, Hino Motors, Ford Japan, Lexus
I'd be interested to see a list of all of the Japanese manufacturers even on a separate topic. Hino seems as rare as most even mention.
As it applies here, I would think that showing the oddest, rarest, and least known in the forefront would add to the educational value and credibility of the website. AE86s and Hakosukas are great, but that content does not set this site apart from other websites on the net.
