I own 1984 Chevrolet (Isuzu) Trooper. I really love Isuzu, so when I restored my Trooper I re badge it with Isuzu's emblems and badges.





My family had 1st gen Trooper since 20 years ago, and I starting to drove one in year 2000. I also collect and read articles about it, and I found out that Trooper was born in September 1981. So this year Trooper is celebrating it's 30th Anniversary.

In here I want to share some interesting historical facts that related to Trooper birth 30 years ago.

There are somethings that I want to know about Trooper History.

In late 60's until early '80s, Isuzu use Giorgetto Giugiaro to design some Isuzu cars like 117, Florian and Piazza. Did he design Trooper or it's just designed by R&D guys in Isuzu?

Is it true that Trooper is the first 4WD passenger vehicle made by Isuzu? I know that before Trooper, Isuzu has made 4x4 Chevrolet LUV, but that's a pickup truck. And long before Isuzu made Unicab, but it's a 2WD.

Thanks for the Trooper history! This truck really put Isuzu on the map in the US. I especially like the 2-door, SWB models like yours. The white wheels are a nice touch too.

these were callad the jackeroo here in Australia, I had one that i used to drive had the 2ltr petrol motor, it was what got me into 4 wheel driving. went everywhere that my mates lifted 45 series toyota went!
