Yeah, it's the Canadian market rebadged Geo Metro, which itself is a Suzuki Swift [or Cultus, as it is called in Japan].

This one's been "ecomodded" for big mpg numbers. It belongs to Darrin Cosgrove of Canada. It is a "barn find" of sorts, as it only has 15,000 oririnal miles on it. It was bought from a proverbial old ladie's garage.

HERE's the wiki link to the family tree.

Do you guys tape up the gaps in the hood and door panels, and fold the mirrors in during the run?

Everyone's got their own level of seriousness. I remove my mirrors completely, but I don't bother with taping the seams. Only one driver taped all of his seams and that was the white CRX that won.

Thanks for the links to the Top Gear fuel economy challenge. That was fun to watch!

I am heading up to Montreal Canada to participate in their Economy Run Rally next weekend with my B210. I will not have the full belly pan in place as that would raise a flag at the border crossing.

This is a combination Economy Run and a Road Rally at the same time. This adds to the challenge to get your best mpg's because you have to make the checkpoints on time or be penalized 2% of your mpg figure for every minute late.

I will be competing agaist the latest in technology, hybrids, diesels, and plenty of modern economy cars like the group from the Club Smart.

Full event details are here.
