Hey gang,

Just a quick note for the upcoming 2011 version of LapZ at the lake - held at Lakeside raceway, Kurwongbah, Qld, Australia.

All the Racing places have been filled but the car show is available. It will be held in the inside of the track. For those how haven't been out to Lakeside for a while, there is now a car tunnel under the track so you can come and go as you please. Will be a great day so make sure you come out and have a look. As per our show policies - free to come and look and also enter the car show - other events are available later on if you'd really like to pay!! An RFZ event.

Seven of club members, this is a club event so those on club rego are fine to drive to the event.

The Second LapZ at the Lake will be run at the Historic Lakeside Raceway on the 21st of May 2011
Run by Queensland Raceways and Promoted and Organised by the Z Car Club of Qld Inc. with support from the 7 of Clubs Mazda Car Club of Queensland Inc. and The Rising Sun Collectors Register of Australia
FREE ENTRY for SPECTATORS

The 2010 LapZ at the Lake had over 60 Japanese cars competing on the day in a Sprint Event held at the Historic Lakeside Raceway, of these 16 competitors, competed for there first time ever on a track.
This is Club Based Motorsport at it’s Absolute Best
There will be a dedicated area for a static display of cars, inside the track on the day.

This Year’s LapZ will be bigger and better than last year with the whole day and the track dedicated to Japanese Cars, on undoubtedly one of the best racing tracks in Australia. You will not be disappointed!

Here is a chance for YOU first timers, that may have been thinking for years that you would like to give it a go but have never been game enough to try, to get out there on the track and drive your cars at whatever pace you are comfortable with. You don’t need a race car! Your standard road registered cars are good enough.

We will be having 5 to 6 groups with a maximum of 15 per group. This will enable us to separate everyone into groups according to their car speed and track experience. The day will consist of:

A Morning BBQ; For those of you not wanting to compete in the Sprint Event there will be a morning BBQ Breakfast and driving a few laps around the Historic Lakeside Raceway track at a reasonable pace behind a pace car all for $20.00.
The Practice and ½ Day Sprint;
Competitors will be grouped according to there experience and a maximum of 15 per group allowed. It is planned that there will be 2 Practise Sessions of 4-5 laps for each group, then the rest of the afternoon will consist of 3 timed runs - 1 warm up lap, 5 timed LapZ and a cool down lap, the same as any normal Sprint day that Lakeside run.

As some of you may already know, QR/Lakeside has changed their pricing structures and Sprint format. It now consists of only three 5 lap sprints in the afternoon with practice, at an extra cost, in the morning. The cost for this through QR/Lakeside is $145 for a street sprint plus $60 for practice Track Attack charges a similar amount. That’s $205.00

As a club based group you will only have to pay $160.00 for the Practice sessions, ½ Day Sprint and this also includes your carport hire (price to be confirmed – the more entries we receive the cheaper we can make it)

License fees are not included in any of the prices listed above. -- Annual AASA Clubman Licence $55.00 -- AASA Clubman Day Licence $20.00

Lakeside Raceway has some fantastic vantage spots for viewing the cars on the track, where you can get extremely close to all the action. You will be able to walk around the pits to check out the cars and say hi to the competitors. The Race Track Cafeteria will be open selling the usual race track hot dogs, hamburgers, chips and drinks on the day.
