A few days ago I talked to a guy about buying his 1975 RA22 Celica GT with no motor. He wanted $800, $1100 with the SD Mikuni carbs. Next day I get word he's accepted another offer for an 88 Toyota 2WD P/U, I can't compete with a trade like that.

Shit.

I then found a SET as in 2, Datsun 510's for $950! One is a partial shell in good shape and the other was rolled but all the bits and the 1600 are still intact so its just a part switch. I emailed him twice with no avail for a day or so I lost hope.

Double shit.

BOTH! Are now available! WTF do I do! I've got a 75 RA22 Celica 60 miles away, or a sweet 510 project 260 miles away for damn near the same price!

Which do YOU like? Since I expect a chorus of 510 lovers to chime in I'll say Celica. The only drawback is that '75 has the safety bumpers, no?

I love the Celica, I really do. But I have my Nostalgic Toyota with my 76 HiLux. And I believe it does have the safety bumpers. But in the end im also thinking investment wise and I tend to think the 510 would be worth more in the end.

If it was me, I'd buy the 510. But that's because I've built so many I can do it blindfolded. Got any local JNC friends familiar with Datsuns?
