Sorry dude, thats way off. The gemini, both in Australia and in Japan, and the Kadett in Europe, were known as one of THE best handling small cars of their time. In australia in particular, they grew a large aftermarket following in both street and race, along with regular comparisions in the motoring press to BMW's, Alfas, Fiats etc. They were never [in Australia at least] compared to the Escort Mark II - they were considered to be well above the Escort in handling capabilities.
Believe me when i say this - ive owned some cars "reknowned" for their handling [E36 BMW, S15 200sx to name two] and NEITHER comes close to handling as well as my Gemini does.
