Hello everyone! A few of you may have seen me around posting my newbish questions and thoughts around the forum. Thought it'd be appropriate to finally introduce myself.

I'm a San Francisco, CA resident of 21 years and currently attend classes at a junior college several miles away. I wasn't introduced to Japanese nostalgic cars until my then favorite magazine Sport Compact Car was sent to the cutting board. I came across this site by accident really, and I'm glad I took the time to look into it, I love the community here! :mrgreen:

I'm mostly interested in Datsuns/Nissans and Princes but I still like all Japanese marques. My Dad might be the cause of this as he had a yellow Datsun 240Z back then and continues to be a car nut but instead with Detroit muscle cars. Back in the day, my relatives also had a blue Toyota Celica GT and a Toyota Corona. Cutting the babble, my current garage consists of a beige/brown 1978 Datsun HL620 pickup and an orange 1971 Datsun PL510 sedan; although that one doesn't run at the moment. I hope to learn and maybe if I'm lucky, teach others more about these great old cars.

Welcome! This really is the best place online to be for those of us fond of old japanese iron.The amount of knowledge posessed by the members of this forum is truly amazing! I used to think of myself as being very much in the now about Toyotas before I joined this gang,but I've aquired so much new insight here from all these nice folks. :P :tu:

Unfortunately no, but how awesome would it be if he did?! The only things left from his 240Z (that he remembers) are memories and a spare shift knob which is now on my daily driver 620. However, if it's of any interest, we did own a 1982 "Harvest Beige" Subaru Brat 4WD GL. That is, until the engine started to have severe blow-by. We sold that to a Brat fan in the Washington/Idaho region who put in a new engine and is driving it around his ranch.

That sounds like a great way to spend a winter in the Northwest: cruising around your ranch in a sweet-running Subaru Brat.
