Terrible idea. Those patches do nothing for the original problem. He's just covering them up.

This shouldn't even be an applicable question. That's just shoddy work, period. If I could find the anal-dwelling clowns that pop-riveted on the patch panels on my 300, I would probably make their lives miserable beyond comprehension.
