There's a brief discussion going on the Tomica forum as to 'What are these cars?"

These were wooden prototypes done by Tomy many years ago.
As many of you probably know, TOMY was the manufacturer of Tomica (currently made by Takara Tomy).
The photos are from a Japanese book or mook, but there's no description of the cars.
We're not sure if they are even all Japanese, so please excuse me if any aren't, but what say the JNC gurus - recognize any?
We have some ideas as to a few, but not 100% certain.

Bigger pictures....

Wooden car #2 looks like a Datsun 210:

5. is DEFINITELY a Fairlady, just with a really poorly modeled front end. The sharp edge/protruding lights on rear, shape of door, bodyline... it's a Fairlady.

8. looks very clearly like a MK3 Supra.

In the painted cars, the cream one kinda looks like a Subaru R2, and the orange one is a Honda Coupe 9. The last red one up top looks like it has an awkward Daruma Celica front end and a 1st gen Corona Mark II rear... may just be a Corona Mark II with turn signals painted on for no apparent reason?

I tried to help. lol.

Thank you!
One of our members also came up with similar results, although he identified the Datsun as a 112.
So I did some searching and I found this page: http://www.earlydatsun.com/ - it looks like there are a bunch of similar models... :?

Ah. Yeah, I'm no expert on those, so he could well be right.

Painted cars, the bottom right red one might be a C30 Laurel? The C-pillar seems abnormally thick, but the details on these are kinda off it seems.

I would also guess you're right about the limo- Prince built a limo for the royal family, and then took design cues from it for the Gloria... by the time they came to production Prince and Nissan had already merged, and so the stacked light Gloria was a Nissan.
