So I've been searching for a fun little Japanese daily driver. I want to make sure I'm not missing anything, these seem like the best options

Protege LX
Infiniti G20
Sentra SE-R (probably wont find a stock one)
Isuzu Stylus (impossible to find)

While not Japanese, also looking the mercury tracer, but would rather have Japanese. Has to be a 4 sedan. Am I missing a sporty Honda or Toyota? or something else?

Sorry if early 90s isn't nostaligic enough!

Tracer LTS or Escort LX-E is the same as the Protege LX. DOHC 1.8 mazda drivetrain, 4 wheel discs, etc. I have an LX-E with a KLZE V6, 5 speed, MX-3 suspension, and five lug conversion. All using factory parts for a bolt in affair.

I had a 93 mx3 that was a good little car. I'd have another one. it was the 4 cyl. 5 speed.
-edit-
I just noticed you said 4 dr. sedan. my bad. what about a Galant vr4? probably hard to find, too.

^ I second this. I have a base Escort LX and my only gripe is it's underpowered, which the LTS/LX-E fixes.

Civics and Accords from that era came with 4 wheel double wishbone suspensions, so they're pretty fun in the corners.
