What state is you car currently in?
Is it a daily driver, show car, rolling project, in a million pieces in your garage, don currently own a jnc and currently saving/looking for one, the current cause of divorce?

I'm currently saving for an ms55 or ms63 crow wagon

I don't currently own a jnc, but I'm definitely looking for one. but the car I have now is a 93 mazda mx3, so it's not quite there.

Of the four that reside in the shed, Three are runners
Two are Daily drivers, My 260Z and the little lady's '75 Galant coupe. The other runner is a beat up Datsun 1600 (510) that's a retired rally car that we use for dirt racing such as khanacross and motorkhana. The poor thing had been sitting down the back yard in the weather for a touch over 12 months but after giving the battery a good charge the bastard fired up first go! The brakes had seized however

The non runner is a long term project that my dad inherited. Its a 1969 (or maybe 68, can't quite tell) Datsun 2000 Sports that has been sitting in a shed since the early 80's. It's all complete, including the original B-spec motor (bigger cam and factory fitted mikuni side-draughts) Magnum jellybean wheels and an early momo prototipo steering wheel!
Bugger all rust and pretty straight but needs a complete rebuild.

I am currently considering replacing the daily 260Z with a slightly more modern JNC. Looking at AE86's but I'm going to have to be patient.

75 280z- Driven daily to work. Once a month I'll have to trim another cracked vacuum hose in the climate control system, or spray the TPS with contact cleaner when the leads get dirty to restore the idle, but these things have become routine for me, so it works.

86 300zx 2+2- Her daily driven vehicle. The ghost-in-the-machine dashboard blinks out occasionally in the wet, needs a dash cover to mitigate cracking, radio and mirrors don't work currently , but mechanically solid as a rock. Over the year we've owned it, we've only replaced bulbs, a battery, and a tire.

Triumph TR7- Doesn't drive yet, but you knew that. In storage due to limited space, so I can't work on it. I had it running, but now (surprise) seems to need a head gasket. Remarkably all electronics work, but the brakes and clutch hydraulics all need to be rebuilt.

55 Chevy- Runs as well as it ever did. Secondaries seem to be sticking though every so often, so I'll rebuild the carb. Still has that issue where the lights go out when you step on the clutch though...

The Luce is a daily driver, and is what we use the most when I need to take the kids anywhere. Late night runs for ice cream, going to swimming lessons, etc are all done in the rotary and now that I'm no longer driving to work, it's the car I drive 95% of the time and it's used maybe 6 days out of 7. Hako used to be driven to work once or twice a week, but now rests in the garage while I do the daily schlep on the train. In fact I don't think I've driven it since before christmas, so it gets used maybe once a month, when I remember to wake up extra early for a proper drive into the countryside.

So both are daily driveable cars, and if I had to do a long road trip, I'd say either would fit the bill. Both still need a regimen on ongoing restoration though

DD and services it's job well.

80 Corolla:
Project and fun car. I have been and will be doing EVERYTHING (I have tools for) on this car. Recently redid the interior. Fiberglassed the dash. Got the 3T running with EFI. Replaced front struts and brakes with AE86. The car is currently legal and starts when I want it to.

88 Celica Alltrac:
New snow project. Fun and winter duties. Needs a new wiring harness before it will run. Probably more will show up as needing fixed after the new harness makes its way into the car.

1977 280Z (HLS30-366531): Not running--hibernating for the past 4 yrs.

1977 280Z (HLS30-381169): Not running--hasn't been started since the mid 1990's--it arrived from Indiana last summer and is awaiting a major parts swap from my old 77 280Z (HLS30-375108).

1978 280Z (HLS30-448652): Hasn't been started/driven since June of 2006!

1978 280Z (HLS30-434713): Just bought this on New Year's Eve less than 2 months ago! I bought this from its original owner and it hasn't been driven since 2006--Ca. non-op and flatbed towed to Md. in February 2010. Nice and rust free!

1986.1 300ZX hardtop: Daily driven since I bought it back in Dec. 2001. It has 246,8xx miles on it and still runs real strong.

1986.2 300ZX hardtop: This hardtop twin gets driven once a week and was driven across country when I bought it out of Sherman Oaks, Ca back in March 2006. This one has 248k miles and runs great but not as strong as 86.1!

1987 RX7: This base model hardtop only has 117k miles on it and runs great but it is driven weekly to keep everything lubricated. Currently waiting on a new headlight switch and sub-harness installation.

1990 240SX: Recently bought this one back again--lots of stuff has been done to this one since original purchase back in January 2008! Might be selling this one--have the itch for another MA70 hardtop N/A again!!!

1992 300ZX: Recently bought this as a mercy purchase from one of my neighbors' co-workers. It has t-tops so it can't stay in the collection. Would love to swap this for a Z32 hardtop N/A.

The other future JNC sits in the garage in Florida and gets exercised every 3-4 months (it is a Z33 brickyard red base model).

1982 Datsun is currently sitting under a car cover with the engine partially disassembled. When it gets warmer it will go in the garage and remove the blown A15 for another A15 that I picked up. Needs a new clutch installed and then it will be good to drive. Then the body and repaint can be done.

1985 Supra needs to have a new radiator, water pump, rear calipers, rotors and then the body work can be done.

'77 280Z. Daily driver, well-maintained, only re-dying the carpet away from a mint interior.
I feel a little guilty dailying an S30 with only 90k original miles though...



'81 Accord. My gf's daily driver.

1986 Nissan Stanza Wagon - In a million pieces. She blew her head gasket and the mechanic ran off with my money. She's sat for 3 years while I try to get the money together (and find a reputable mechanic) to fix her. She was a daily driver before that.

1981 Mitsubishi Scorpion (Sapporo/Challenger)- Running, driveable, 4WD-spec and has 4G52 powah though. Needs low and rego, then maybe a Starion G63BT for ZOMG HEKTIK TURBROEZ!!!!

1980 Holden VC Commodore- Not a JNC (AuNC? lol), but I think it's pretty cool. Basically an Opel Commodore-C with a locally-sourced drivetrain and a few minor visual changes. Does me well for daily duties, uses bulk petrol though. 202 (3.3L carby pushrod 6cyl) auto, lol. Currently looking into an injected 202/5spd conversion from a later VK.

1978 Chrysler Scorpion (early Sapporo)- Relegated to parts, as it's gotten to the stage where it's too far gone to save. Shame, really. Was a nice car when I bought it, just didn't have the time or money to fix it up

'00 Magna- 6G74, 5spd. Sensible, reliable daily, gets along pretty well though.

The only Japanese thing I have is just barely 20 years old, my '92 Ford Probe beater. After an unplanned alternator delete (don't ask) I put it up for sale, the guy didn't show, and I decided to keep it. It's quite, uh, "dazzling"

Growing up, my mom had an '89, four cylinder automatic Probe GL. I think every other probe I ever saw was an LX or GT, all I really remember about it was that the paint oxidized off of it in fewer than five years, in the back seat it really felt like it rode like a sports car, and I hated it because it replaced a 280ZX, unloaded because of a dead transmission
