hey,
sure man, jimmy AKA crewdawg scratch built a master and resin casted them. he's the one that build that sweet goldish fairlady. he's also on here, just not as often. he is currently based out in okinawa, so he's not on here as often and has slowed down his production of engines.
he has the OS MAII, 3TC, 2TG, 22RE, 4AG 20v and has some others up his sleeve.

well here's my 2nd ever attempt at building a model car (my first was a racing toyota corona exiv, back when i was a kid..) still looks like i was wearing boxing-gloves putting it together, compared to most of the others on here..u guys could be brain surgeons with steady hands like that!
i want to lower it and change the exhaust, maybe get some different wheels too..

I've been working on a kouki Trueno from Aoshima, again kitbashing for some good parts.

Base kit.
Image

Parts robbed from the other kits, the wheels pictured are from Fujimi but went with the Aoshima SSR XR-4.
Image

Plan is for a semi daily driver that used touge runs.
Image

Hood from the Car Boutique Club Trueno kit, the mesh was drilled out and molded hood pins removed to be replaced with photoetch ones.

Racing buckets had the seat holes opened out, planning on using a five point harness.
Image

Sink marks filled with super glue and baking soda.
Image

Mocked up with the Fujimi SSR XR-4, found that they wouldn't fit once the suspension was installed.
Image

The suspension done and ready to go in once the chassis is painted.
Image

Got the 4A-GE wired, made the boots from leftover wire.
Image

The Aoshima SSR XR-4 were stripped of the chrome, added Hobby Design valve stems, painted with Alclad Aluminium, given a wash of thinned Tamiya Clear Smoke and weathered with Tamiya Weathering Set D.

Removed the radio, also been working on trimming the pedals down to fit some MCG photoetch pedals on them.

I've been a long time lurker of this website and have picked up a lot of good ideas for my model kits from the garage section :) I'm a fan of the JDM classics as well and have built quite a few kits since I can't afford the real thing :tu: nice to see a lot of familiar names here from the modelling sites.

here are some of my j-tin models:

hey guys, a bit of an update on the Z. i filled in the holes that are meant for the motorized part of the kit. trying to do something with the battery tray interior bucket. now the rear camber is still in progress. it's extreme now, but itll be more subtle when im done with it.

I wanted to build a replica of his '70 240z with an RB25DET drivetrain swap. I used the Hasegawa(body/interior) and Fujimi kits plus aftermarket bits. I tried to replicate everything visible in the engine bay like the valve cover, fuel rail, injectors, BOVs, vacuum lines, etc. Not 100% but works. I like the little touches that make the car special like the exhaust welds, decals, Porsche brakes, Recaro seats. Enjoy!

Just placed an order at hobby link Japan. Not sure it worked? Placed order. Clicked pay with Paypal and it said thanks. Didn't pull anything out of Paypal or ask me to log into it. I did get an email for my order. Will I get a second email where I can pay? Also how long can I expect till I get my order?

Thanks guys

This reminds me.
Unpacked the stuff my buddy ordered for me from YAJ, and the one model I bought from ... i don't remember right now..

two Corona Mark IIs. One is tiny (doesn't have a scale) and both are motorized... not really a fan of that, I may just not use the motors.
Image

and the rest of the wheels.

derek, i would contact HLJ for that. i haven't order from them in over 10 years and when i did, i paid by CC.

c72c, nice find on those kits and wheels.

since the last time, the 280zx has gotten a bit more done. i painted the inter cooler, tail lights, brakes, seats got some upholstering done to it, stripped chrome from wheels and i started making a rear strut bar(not pictured)
you'll also see that theres an MSD box, and the bumpers for the 510.

I started test fitting all the wheels on the Corona. The rear wheel wells were cut waaay to high, the '15s' look tiny in it. I'll have to add some material.
Right now, I'm leaning towards the Wats, but we'll see as it goes together.

These aren't J-tin, but just thought I'd share some of my past work. You can see the improvements I made throughout building them. They're not great by any means, but let's see if my skill has changed at all since high school. lol
They're all dusty and partially broken from all the times I've moved with them.

67 Chevelle. My wife (girlfriend at the time) put it all together, I just painted it.

got more pics, just didn't want to crowd the thread with non j-tin.

and one I realized I never finished.

I'd like to get at least that good of a look. How do you do that?
