Are those 15 inchers available. I have a couple of AE86 kits that have TE37s, but I don't recall if they are 15 or 14 inches. I will have to check when I get home. Never even occured to me to do it the easy way

http://www.hlj.com/product/AOS04022 <-Those are the ones, discontinued as an aftermarket part it seems. They are included in the Aoshima '83 Levin and Car Boutique Club Trueno kits.

They're spot on for the diameter of the 15" Fujimi RS-Watanabes..well...Fujimi have two sizes they call 15", being the older style male mounting wheels which are a beesdick smaller than the Aoshima TEs, and later polycap mount wheels and "345" wheels which are a beesdick larger. In fact I have used two of the smaller ones for the fronts and two of the larger ones for the rear. You could easily turn the larger ones down but its unnoticeable with tyres on.

Brilliant modelling.

BRB, going to crush my models and throw them out. I'm not worthy.

well, i waited a couple of weeks to get some putty i ordered for my other projects. so i started this kit. its plain, not much detail so i thought it would be quick and easy. so far so good.

hey, it's made by USAIRFIX. part of airfix models. its a fairly old kit i guess. i have never seen it before. it's motorized style, so the chassis detail is not the greatest, and the interior bucket is meant to have batteries under neath it. oh, sorta like the doyusha kits.
but i gotta say, the body is fairly nice after sanding the flash off. i sanded off the wiper blades. it even comes with the huge US bumpers.

I just ordered two corona kits. soon to be before and after :D

Has anyone seen a corona mark II with the pointed grille like mine?
I've found a few kits on YAJ but none of them have the same grille, just figured i'd see if they even made one.
if not, what is the stuff some of you use to mold your own part? I suppose I could just get some of that and make my own grille.

hey man, what year corona?

ive only seen 73 coronas in plastic kits. actually i have one im working on. it's somewhere in here.

as for part making, you can use styrene. simple to use. if you have the skills, you can make anything. i also seen some use wax to make parts, and then make mold for resin pouring.

good point, i've only seen 73 also. mine is a 74. everything seems to look similar other than the grille and the bumpers. at least from the picture anyway, i haven't got them in yet.

i'll give it a shot making my own parts if i have to. i'm pretty good with my hands...
'resin pouring' like fiberglass resin?

For those of you like me that get alot of your stuff now from HobbyLink Japan. They have posted a page of how they were affected by the earthquake. They came out of it pretty well, but read the page in the link to get the full low down. Also watch the video at the top of the page that was shot inside HLJ as it was happening, very chilling. Remeber too, HLJ is 100km from the coast that got hit.

WOW! Thats awesome. Do you have a background in military models or anything? Weathering and surface finishes are spot on.

jeff: i received the email from HLJ, its good they are ok. its nuts over there right now. nuclear disaster?? lets hope not.

7th: its actually my first time doing weathering of this type. i do want to do a military kit sometime. they look like fun. i just replicated what i have seen at the junk yards. i did these with tamiya rattle cans and tamiya weather sets. i hope to have the engine in tonight.
