You went a little nutty yes, but the real one look just as nutty! I am not a huge fan of that style but what a cool model! Good work! Are those Aoshima wheels and tires?

I think I remember this model from the SPC forum. This is a sweet build.

Hey everyone,

after seeing all of these models I decided to give it a go myself :). I'd done a few but never went crazy with it like you guys, I picked up an AW11 model kit and some Volk TE37s for it. I need to make some over fenders for the car so that the Volks will fit though (they're 19 inch, couldn't find 15 inch), anyone have any suggestions or advice on how to go about this? I'm thinking some kind of putty will do the trick, any alternatives though? Thanks for any help :)

I was able to get one set of those wheels from a fellow model builder in Florida.

I've built a few model cars, but the only one that qualifies as a JNC now is this:

Aoshima have done some re-releases/new releases lately; namely the Grand Champion series of cars and some new super deep SSR MkIIs which actually have separate red centres and chromed outers, not sure if the wheels are an aftermarket item yet.

330 Cedric with chin spoiler and racing harts

MA61 XX, chin spoiler and mkIIs ( I like it more than the Formula One body kitted one I have now)
http://hobbyworld.aoshima-bk.co.jp/scri ... =ABK142687

MX41 Mark II , MkIs and chin spoiler
http://hobbyworld.aoshima-bk.co.jp/scri ... =ABK142663

C110 Coupe with Watanabes and Chin Spoiler
http://www.hlj.com/product/AOS04265

I've got the 330 ceddy and MA61 XX coming.

From what I can gather, the 'Gura-Chan' was the Fuji Grand Champion racing event which used to also attract a massive mob of bosozoku and other modified cars to the carpark for an impromptu car show, reaching its peak in the eighties. So Aoshima have done a series of 'Kyusha-Kai' style cars to recognise this.
In reality they're just the chiki-chiki racing and puchi-age racing kits from the last couple of years but with new box art and some cool new parts.
8 spoke watanabes, 4 and 5 spoke Racing Harts and the aforementioned MkIIs are pretty cool.
I think its good that they are still committed to doing smallish runs of these kits of relatively obscure cars.

Unrelated but awesome... 330 Cedric Patrol Car

Gratuitous shots of what I'm up to

This is a great model. There is only one thing I point out with it. The vents on rear quarter panels are suppose to be the same grey as the taillights.
