Sedans are just for people that can't have a coupe.

Nice coupe Dave. Wish I had a coupe... My rx7 doesn't count haha.

Your right Dave, the coupe is the best shaped of the lot, I look at this picture and think to myself, dam that flat nose front and brown combo is amazing, the day I can get my hands on a original rx3 coupe or sedan to restore(at a proper price) not this overpriced bs we see today, my coupe will be striped and restored to its former glory, although mine was orange maybe I'll go brown :/

Done to death is an understatement, my old man had a flare yellow 10arx3 as his first car, I bought the 808 with 10a front as my first (17) as I couldn't afford the real deal now 24 I'm wanting a genuine one for a complete stock resto, there just sadly out of reach for the average joe that doesn't know the right people to get one at the right price not the inflated crap, Hopefully I'll get there one day and my first car will 100% be going 808 again

Original Rx3 projects are around for affordable money, you just need to be patient and ready to buy when they come up. Not all cars go for top dollar like everyone likes to think, I think its really the opposite in a lot of cases. The ones that do go for a large sum of money generally have had 2 or 3x times money spent on top of the indicated 40K sale prices. That applies to r100, Rx2 and Rx3's. Car builders / restorers never make money on cars only loose money. If someone tells you otherwise they are lying !

My next car will most likely be a complete local runner or a Japanese import, depends whats around at the time.

As my brother always says and has always done, buy one already done makes much more sense financially.... turn the key, drive and enjoy it and let someone else wear the lose.

As for 808 coupes they are nice in their own right, a shame that Rx3's have pretty much killed them all. There is a very nice original flair yellow one posted on JNC, lives in QLD.

I couldnt agree more John when you say it makes sense financially to buy one built, BUT do you really know what your getting so many high ticket cars out there are junk. Just a shiny coat of paint and a set of simmons dont get me wrong there are plenty of good ones out there but it really is pot luck. Until you pull the car apart you dont really know what you have, not many documented builds like yours around. I would rather spend the money and build a car you know what you have then plus building them is the best part of owning a vintage car. As stated there is no money to be made in properly restoring a vintage car for profit. Very few people have the ability to do everything in house to turn a profit, factor in your time and your in the red.
