    2M - 4M Engine Block

    Can anyone confirm whether the 2M and 4M engine blocks are the same?

    Talked with my dad on this. We both think that everything is the same except for the cylander bore. So every other gasket but the head gasket should work for you.

    Got the 4M full gasket set.....It's good for the 2m except for the cylinder head gasket ( due to the larger bore)

    I broke down my block last week, crankshaft is stamped 2M, but the engine itself is a 4m. Mostly everything is the same. Rebuilding the block myself.

    All M,2M and 4M and 5M run the same headgasket the only difference is between the early 4M and late is the timing cover bolts at the front,early are internal and late is external.Hpe this clears things up.And yes all the cranks from 2M on including 5M,7M have 2M stamped on them.
