    VIN number for 1800

I have a what I believe is a 1971 Mazda 1800. I would like to confirm this using the VIN number but can not find any info on the web to decipher the number sequence. Can anyone tell me what the following VIN number represents?

    SVA-33476

    Thanks

The car was originally purchased by a guy in Stratford Ontario, Canada. I am assuming from a dealership close by.

Howdy Bugboy. The SVA prefix of your VIN makes it an 1800 for sure. SVAV = 1800 Estate Wagon. SUA = 1500 sedan. SUAV = 1500 Estate Wagon.
Your chassis # 334xx would make it an 1970 model.

Did you get any title, registration, or other documentation with your car? I think it could be easily verified by department of motor vehicle records but I am not familiar with the Canada system, eh.

Awesome. Thanks for the help. I suspected something was not quite right, but I never expected it to be older. The person I bought the car from said it was a 1971 but when I registered the Vehicle with the Province of Ontario, the records showed that the car was not licenced until 1973. I will check into the records to see if it was bought from someone from out of province and later brought to Ontario. It thought it strange that someone could call it a 1971 and no one ever questioned it - not the person who did the appraisal or the License Office.

Thanks a lot. I really appreciate this. This should make looking for the right parts a bit easier.

As soon as the "board attachment quota has been reached" has been resolved I will post a photo of the car.
