    Vintage JNC Radios?

In looking for a period sound system installation for my car, I've settled on a period-ish AM/FM/cassette unit with a wired FM modulated MP3 input:

I just need to install it... I was going to go for a funky 1970s-modern Pioneer tape deck, but would have been limited to a tape adapter for MP3 input, unless I wanted to get into the pre-amp stage. They look great though!

Any other innovative solutions out there too? See ya! Neko.

I'd like to see what people are doing too. The radio was replaced in my roadster for a newer one with cassette player that now is goign out, I want to keep a period look but can't go back to stock. I might just do a small hidden motorcycle radio with mp3.

I eliminated a Becker, though they have a native aux input (suitable for MP3), they just looked too Teutonic for a Honda. My old 911 perhaps...

Also eliminated were the new shaft style Pyle series, though sort of OK, they just looked a little too up-to-date with up-front CD & USB slots. At less than 10% the cost of a Becker, they're cheap though!

My solution above cost only \15,000. Neko.

I have the original Clarion AM radio in my dashboard, I just bought a CD/MP3/WMA/millionotherthings head unit with a remote, that will be hidden away up under the dashboard with some better speakers. I'll them run a USB lead from the head unit, under the carpet on the trans tunnel and up into the centre console. Lift the console lid, plug USB stick in, use remote to turn on. Fingers crossed it all works!

I think i'll be ordering a RediRad, I'll let you know how it works out. Since my radio still works and really all i wanted was an input for my ipod, it is perfect. thanks

    Re: Vintage JNC Radios?

That's what i just found out, a friend of mine has one, he couldn't remember the brand but he said he got his for about $30. i saw one at a car show this weekend that had an ipod connection on it, they couldn't remember what kind it was either. Looks like i'll be researching this some more, it would be nice to have the ipod connection that would charge it also.

you can connect an ipod to any radio and if you want to charge it then you just need to build a resistor array to get the 12v down to 5
