78 Corona Bumper Removal pic/procedure request

Im trying to remove my rear bumper just to see how it would look. I'm liking the old school no bumper look but its a P.I.T.A. All the necessary bolts are removed but it feels like Im missing something, I see there are like rams pressed into the chassis, not sure if its just that old to where its near impossible to remove it but it should come out.

To the point, does anyone have a picture of a T100 corona without bumpers or has any input on how to do it?

you could do a tucked in bumper which what i did to mine or if you could find a jdm chome bumper would be way better. There is a guy from 1stgencelica and i believe he is called bullit on that forum. contact him if he has some rt bumpers.

GL on the project. Wish i still had mine.

Btw, if you want to do the same like what i did, you will need to drill holes to let the gas out. wear some goggles as it will squirt out dry substance everywhere. After doing that, push it in and position it to how far u want it then tack weld (tube shock absorber) in place. Once u get it squared away, weld all the way around.

4x 12mm nuts, 2 each side above the rear shackles. thats all my bumpers have ever had to hold them on. they look nice without the rear bar.

bringing back this topic. say i don't have a tack welder, could i ghettofy it by using jb weld to plug up the drilled hole?

If I remember this right I think you can just drill a hole on other sleeve on both sides and put a nut and bolt. That will hold the bumper in place if u don't have a welder.

think im failing with it. drilled into the bigger piston that fits in the chassis and nothing came out or movement, then theres the smaller and thicker piston which is taking too long to drill into
