ground-up S30Z track car build. (RC Car disclaimer)

I'll be honest. i'll never really be able to buy a real Z and build it into a track toy. so the next best thing is an RC car, right? purchased an HPI Cup 240z kit before the holidays. it has arrived today. this is my "inspiration"

don't know who it belongs to, but i love it. so i have the HPI cup kit and the 6mm offset Watanabes. should have gone with only 3mm, i think.. anyways, check back for "build thread". sorry, i wish that i could be building a real Z... but at least this one won't have any rust..

mods, if you need to move, please do so.

The green body has fallen apart from wall kissing attempts.

    Hi ea-t_me,
I have never had an RC car and I am not suggesting that I would like JNC forum to be full of RC builds (I am sure there are other forums for that) but I would be interested in seeing a detailed (lots of photographs!) build thread on this.
The kit you have looks fantastic. :tu:

well, let me know what pics you'd like! i will update once i get to work. i have a few of the chassis. spent 4.5 hours on it last night..

i'm more than willing to have this thread moved to "general" and just have it be "post up your JNC RC car"..

I think that you should just treat it like a 1 : 1 scale build thread and talk us through the build step by step and let us see what is involved in putting one of these together and customizing it.
If there are more people interested in JNRCCīs then we can start a thread in General Discussions where people can post up their RCīs.

oh god... the instruction manual is available online!!!

what's required to build one of these? an extremely patient wife that is willing to have you completely immersed in a project that takes up the entire kitchen table while also trying to defend your precious miniscule parts from being taken or eaten by four mildly aggressive cats... are you up for the challenge?

well, i wish i had brought my SD card reader to work.. then i'd have pictures to upload!!! but i fail at that. i may be able to find something to upload them..

in the meantime, i find this chassis a little bit past the "first time builder". there are so many settings that you're able to play with like the front gear-diff pre-load, rear ball-diff preload, the usual caster/camber/toe adjustments along with shock settings etc..

sadly, the watanabes are too wide.. ( bought them separate thinking i was into the whole "hellaflush" scene.. guess not)
