    1958 210 Datsun 1000

Hey JNC, I picked up this rare gem from Hesperia California a couple of monthes ago from the owner of an old Datsun dealership in the hi desert. This car was in the showroom and ended up being a family car that his kids drove around while going to school. I'm in the process of getting this back on the road. I do have the original grill and oil bath air filter not pictured. More pics to come.

Love seeing this Oldjunker! And thanks for PMing me about it. I had a thread here on mine, but it got deleted when the forum overhauled not too long ago. But I know you have seen it on Ratsun.

This is a really clean example and it is the only one I have ever seen in this color! I think I know of about 25-26 still in this country.

Glad you got a source for a windshield. Did you wind up cutting down a newer one? I had figured that the 89-93 geo metro/ Suzuki Swift seemed to have the correct curve, but that was as far as I got.

I was putting my brakes back together when I discovered the pivot point/ guide post for my drivers front shoe is missing. It is a post rivetted on the backing plate that a 'c' clip goes on. I need to fab something I think.

What did you wind up doing for window gaskets?

The other thing I am eager to find in the front shocks. Do you know a replacement? (Mine are totally missing.)

I saw in your profile that you are a master Yota mechanic! How I wish I had your skills in that dept! I am way more visual than mechanical.

Wow!!! That is some cool shit right there. Very nice score and seems like it wont be too bad to get on the road.

And I love the lettering on the gauges.

    Re: 1958 Datsun 210 sedan

Fisch, i have'nt purchased the windshield yet i just found a guy that will cut one down, and as far as moldings, i was planning on cutting something down to fit as well that has the same fittment. I'm seriously thinking about finding a metro windshield in pick a part and tapeing it off and sanblasting the edges down to try and fit my own, can't hurt to try and it sure beats the $500.00 quote i got to have it done. Maybe i can help you out on the brake part you need, i currently have disassembled my ft brakes and skimmed the drums, and was getting ready to kit my wheel cyls, and reassemble the brakes. Let me know if you want me to duplicate one of the posts for you. it should'nt be to much trouble if i can use a friends lathe. I can also measure my shocks so you can match something up. As far as the color goes i really like it, and will definately keep it original when it comes time to respray it. my gf want to go red, but it's too rare to start straying from going completely original.
