Stumbled across this '77 RX3SP in a local junkyard this afternoon. Totally stock original right down to the Mazda logo floor mats. Rust along the bottom of the fenders and doors and a couple of good size dents on the passenger fenders. No rust on the floor or trunk. Interior very good with with original radio and air conditioning. Original plaid seats which are torn. Complete "appearance package" with front spoiler missing. 5 speed and original motor. Looks like 52K on the odometer. Junk yard says they will sell. What's a fair price?
The Junk Yard has pulled the car out of the yard and on to the road for me. I took a set of better quality photos. Under carriage looks ok but still needs quite a bit of work. No rust on the hood or around the windows. Trunk is also clean. The interior is complete (looks great) and has the proper fixed rear side windows. Here is the link to the additional photos:
Update: I am in the process of purchasing the car. The paperwork has been submitted to DMV for a reissue of the title. I should have a new title in about 3 weeks. Once the title is in hand, the question is" keep it?" or "sell it?" What ever I decide to do, at the least the car will not be sold as scrap as it nearly became. I failed last time as a 1975 coupe ended up being a 2000lb pancake!
