    Sharing my 84 Lancer

    From this SL

    To this

Almost 4 years of slowly building it and it's getting there .

Mainly for occasional racing I did the ff:
Engine swap to 4G63 2nd gen
Retrofit stiffer springs for the front (soon to be coilovers hopefully)
5 speed from the GSR (KM119) but will look into the KM132 since I've destroyed 4 KM119s
GSR rear end w/disk brakes but with a 3.9 final ratio (open diff)
    Galant GTi Front brakes
    Brake Proportioning valve
    Surge tank
    Roll cage
Adapted a strutbar from god knows what car
    DIY Ghetto fab brake ducts
DIY Ghetto fab roll center adjusters

    From this:

    To this:

    My office:

And here's a vid of one of my fav races. Sadly I din't have the GTi Brakes then T_T... Half a lap in and the brakes were already fading T_T. And it was my 1st time to track with the 63

I don't feel like I've done justice to my old engine by not including it here. It has served me well and deserves recognition!

    4G33
    Cam 6
    Single side Weber 40
    Mated with a 4 speed
    4.2 read end; drum brakes

    http://youtu.be/29PZ1HuGhZo <----- a tribute to that engine.

Thank you sir . But this project is far from over :P. Thanks to the 63, everything else in the car can't keep up . I need to focus more on the suspension, brakes, and bracing so I can drive it as hard as I did back when it was still a 1400 .

    Will try

    To Do List:
    KM132 tranny
    Coilover adapt
    Rack and Pinion Adapt
Swap the rear end to a toyota (I know, I know... But it's so rare to come across a 10 bolt mitsu axle here T_T)
    Revamp Roll Cage
Re-Full body restoration. The camera hides a few blemishes :P.

Only then will I go and find more power for the engine

Might take a another 4 years though hahaha. I'll update as it goes along .

    Re: Sharing my 84 Lancer

    Thanks guys! Here's an update

Whooooooo! My box finally has a real name! It came to me during track day. It was the first time that I really got to know the my Lancer on the track . It's the first time where I wasn't half the time on the paddock repairing stuff.

This time, I just kept on driving without any problems. I had good tires, and the surge tank kept a steady supply of gas. Plus the negative camber in the front helped a lot. Before, a lot of stuff wasn't really working out and/or I kept on changing so many things so I never really drove my Lancer consistently. But yesterday I was able to.

Inspired by it's super twitchy handling, light weight, not so solid build quality, the sound it makes that resembles a low flying aircraft(according to my friend), and the dedication of a kamikaze pilot to drive, I named her based on a famous Japanese Mitsubishi Fighter Jet.

    I now name her, ZERO!

    Track Day Results:
I was second fastest of the day whoooo! Second to our Subaru WRX. The gap was only 0.7 seconds.

Then we had an official drag race between our H22 Accord and myself the 4G63 Box. Best out of 3 rounds.

1st heat: We launched, the Accord got the launch (Federal RSRs are good tires O_O. Even if he was FWD, he still god the jump on the launch!)... But he missed second so I was able to pull away and win! Yeeeeey

2nd heat: I knew he was actually faster... So I had to bring out my A game if I wanted to win this... Then at launch... The Accord suddenly snapped its axles... Which meant... I won this round! Hahahahaha

It was a good day! Although I wrecked some rear bushings that I'd need to replace on Monday :|
