    Derrick b1800

Hey there I picked up a b1800 I don't know what year it is but I like it alot. Has the old Mazda emblem on the top of the hood with just the m in a circle. I'd post pics but there to big coming from my phone.

It does not run but could it turns over just needs a coil and new gas.

Is there is any fellow owners on here

Nice find Derrick. It is an early BUD B1500, late 1960s or maybe just into the 1970s with the metal grille and round M badge.

The carby is an SU, similar to what the Mazda 1500 and 1800 sedans of the same era had, a copy of the British type SU on the early sports cars and Minis. Shouldn't be too hard to find a kit for it.

Glad you have saved it, hope to see your progress as restoration continues.

I love the interiors on these. How bizarre is it that you found brochures for it in a trailer you bought?

Nice find indeed! B1500/B1600/B1800 (Proceed) with this grille went until 1973 I think. I maybe wrong Jon but I have a suspision that it lasts longer in US and Canada. I might have the US/Canada parts book so I ll check.

Ok the part that gets me is that it says b1800. But I was talking with my service writer at work he knows these cars from new and he said its other at 70-71. Mazda did not come to Canada till 69 so I'm thinking I have one of the first imported

Little update full if new info for me today.
Finally found a dealer who knew something about the older cars and said the 5th number on the vin was the year so I'm going with a 71.

    Interesting Pickup.
It seems to be an Early B1600 PRE 73. The 100MPH speedo in the that lhd dash layout is the first I've seen.
There was a guy on another site with a neat B1600 Sports US model with a completly different LHD dash config and a factory floor shift. As per your brochure.
I dont think it is a VC 1800 engine. It is possibly the 1800 from the 1500/1800 Luce model with a single SU Carb.
Australia got your model with a 1600 and column shifted 4 speed from 71 to 76. It was face lifted a few times before the Second Gen B1800 with the VC engine was released in 1977.
Worldwide there was different configurations of the First generation. They seem to cross polinate engine combo's around 1975.
    What year is your example.

    Re: Derrick b1800

I think I have finally found it to be a 71 from the vin. Thing that stumps me is the b1800 did not come till 72 in the states at least Canada got trucks starting in 70 or 71 so this could be one of the first imported to canada. Could also be badged Wrong
I have seen one truck with the Same badges and cluster but it was a b1600 and rhd and different carb set up.
