    NZ Datsun 240z

Hi there - can't believe it has taken me until 2011 to find this site. Some great cars here.

I have had my 72 240z since 1997 when I came out of Uni and got a loan for the full price of the car.....

Its pretty standard with a few basic improvements like exhaust, bushes and Ztherapy carbs.

I would be very appreciative if someone could identify my wheels - I don't know what they looked like new. They were covered in crappy paint when bought and are now refinished.

    Cheers!

I also bought this for $500 and a dozen beer to seal the deal........it had a brand new set of adjustable koni shocks in a box sitting in the back.

Unfortunately it was completely stuffed but if did yield some good parts.

Nice car. The rims look like super lights or konig rewinds.

Thanks for that - while they look similar they aren't any of those. I had some Watanabes before these (wrong offset so looked a bit average). The only marking on the back is a square grid. I am pretty sure they are period wheels from Japan.

Hmmmm - pretty close match. Nice wheels! I would like those on a Mustang!

I had always assumed Panasport were a relatively new company but they look pretty vintage.

    Thanks for that.

In 1987 That car cost me $14k, I was the 3rd owner, it had steel wheels and factory hub-caps, and the factory AM radio as well. The car WAS uncut, and one of the only stock standard ones in NZ. I had to re-ring the motor, and I fitted a factory rear sway bar, and hazard lights to it, It had about 85 000 miles on it. it took us around the south island a couple of times ( I got $14k back when I sold it, and have regretted it ever since) ... I had always wondered where it ended up....... John.....
