    noob suspension discussion

So, I've been looking into either getting a cb5/6/7 bike or as yamaha, and I remember this cb750 from a previous discussion on here.

can anybody with more knowledge/experience clarify something for me? It looks like it still softtail, but someone swapped out the spring/shock with a solid bar to make it rigid. I was wondering if anybody could tell me how safe this is because I'm digging how low it is out back but know it wouldn't be possible with a functioning softtail, and I don't much care for the cb750 with hardtail conversions.

This bike is knee high off the ground with a functional softtail.

Extended swing arm and shorter strut/spring? Or just short spring? Id be worried about the tire catching the fender and severing my spine

Yes, to both. But it was also fairly low before the swing arm extension. :tu:

    Okay... :P

He hasn't bottomed it out yet, and he's pretty tough on them...

I suppose it'd be easy enough to stack washers or something on the shock as a solid bumpstop to prevent too much suspension travel. I really like the low softtail bikes.

Too far away . I love it though! Its pretty much exactly the type of thing I'm into. I wish I understood bikes more, but I guess there's only way to learn.
