    1970 Toyota Crown Wagon...4WD??

I've been chasing this thing for years and finally was able to get a shot of it parked. Since these cars are body on frame, someone dropped the body right on top of what looks to be an 80's era 4WD suv/truck frame with a transfer case. From the bumpers, someone could figure out what's under it. Located in Hawaii!

Based on the bumpers and front hubs, I'd put money on it being a mid-70s Chevy. Most likely K5 Blazer based on the wheelbase. :tu:

Funny that the Crown is lifted like 2 feet and it's only just the same height as the minivan next to it... :P

I wouldn't think it's too hard to convert it back if you have a spare frame lying around... which is a Big If I suppose... Sigh...

I think it's sick personally! Not what I'd do if I had that car (quite the opposite actually, lol. It wouldn't be driveable, just like my other other classic yota ), but definately cool. I prefer crappy rigs for wheeling but to each his own. I'm amazed it's in such good shape too. The owner obviously loves it .

Put it on an old 2wd yota frame with bags .

Seems the few Crown wagon survivors are always getting weird things done to them... there was that propane conversion one on CL a while ago....

Ah, I had wondered where that car went. Really wish I'd known about it at the time, I would have been all over it. *sigh*

I'm not big on the lifted 4x4 thing, but I'd be so happy to find one I'd want it anyways, haha. :tu:
