    my mazda 323 1977

hello, just joined this forum, i recently bought this wee mazda which im going to put back on the road, it has lay in a barn for over 25 years

only needs minor work to get road worthy, i is very clan inbellow, no signs of rot at all, have bought 2 new wings for it but now it just needs striped down and resprayed, the engine runs great, starts no bother and has only 36 thousand miles done, its auto at the minute but mite keep it that way cause would like keep it totally original as possible cause dnt think there is many of these left in ireland. this is going to be my first car ive restored, i just like the look of it and seem a great little car,

needs small wee patch welded where wing bolts as you can see kinda in the pic

have front panels all striped from the car and started to treat the surface rust with rust eater, 2 small patches of rust to be replaced which are tiny and a easy fix

bought a exhaust system today new old stock

started to sand places of the car down to prep for paint

Are you going to repaint it the same colour or a different one? They were avaliable in a range of cool colours back in the day if you want to keep it "original"

had intended of repainting it the original colour, my mates dad has all the old original colour cards for cars and ive seen the colours they came in and do like the bright green or even the yellow like ur profile picture, my interior would match the yellow cause its light coloured yellow

Have you pulled off the panel under the windscreen wipers? It normally accumulates leaves and dirt and makes the firewall seam rust Also the sound proofing stuff in there can hide some rust holes too. I'd chip it all off to make sure. The bootlid and the bottom of the doors can be trouble spots too. At least your floor is in good condition. Yours is a 1.3L?

Mine is thunder yellow, which isnt very common. There is also yolk yellow and space yellow
Keeping in mind my profile pic is colour tweaked, it looks more like this

yea have the panel under the windscreen screwed of and its is fine under there not even any surface rust,
was looking at the colour cards and the thunder yellow same as urs is real nice and would go with the interior and a nice set of wheels.

yea shes a 1.3, runs well, lay for over 25 years and started moreless straight away with the points cleaned and on the old petrol

new old stock exhaust arrived today, needed front scilencer but whole system was cheap so got it all

been looking throw alot of pictures and i had intended on keeping it pure standard but defo going to do a few mods think the bright yellow paint is a must and a nice set of chrome style wheels of some sort, have a brand new chromed back bumper so just need to either find a good front 1 or get it rechromed and it should look well when finished.

has any 1 ever tried wobble bolts, do they work ok
