    Suspension question

Looking at these sites it says an ae86 front tokico strut will fit my 1979 te31 corolla.

I find this weird considering i have read elsewhere they dont work butttt...

all the struts i look up vary saying that a 74-82 or 74-79 or 81-86 ect... i want to know for sure before ordering. The part number is TOK-HZ3014

can someone varify this for me thank you. :tu:

yea man ive researched it a bit and being a lazy non-welder myself, heres the setup to go for; ae86 front strut tubes/ rotors/ calipers, your stock top hats, gen2 mr2 rear shocks, techno toy tuning shock adapter things, and some good springs like paraidse racing, tho i ordered mine from them some time ago and havnt heard jack squat since...

The AE86 strut case is a direct bolt on. Most guys will go that route in order to get the vented disk brakes up front. As for the struts, you'll want to do a short stroke conversion if you plan on lowering the car. Otherwise you'll be replacing struts quite often if you drive the car hard. I've blown a few sets of Tokico Blues this way. I did a short stroke AGX conversion on my Celica with coilovers and haven't looked back.

yo bro that sux about the spring i was about to order some from them too... i found some inserts that suposedly dont require welding buttt... if they did i could weld it up or actually take a hockey puck and modify it to work as a spacer/ washer considering i dont plan on slamming my beast

haha mposted the same time as you PERTANO... is there a writeup on this conversion?

To answer a statement you made. No the brake assembly from your 79 won't work. But that's the point of the swap to begin with. To get the better brakes from the AE86. So you use the entire setup from the AE minus the top hats. Those you will use from your TE31 or TE51.
