    Celeste Lancer 2000 Diff. compatibility??

Just wondering if anyone with experience of the Lancer 2000 or Lancer Turbo's can tell me if the rear axle or more to the point the LSD of the Lancer is compatible with the Celeste in any way?

    Many thanks.

AFAIK the EX Turbo diff is the later, stronger 10-bolt MMC diff (like Scorpions/live axle Sapporo's run), whereas the LC Lancer/Celeste runs the early 8-bolt. So you'd have to swap diffs, not just centres.

I was thinking if the track was similar on the earlier leaf suspension models I could swap in the entire axle. Would that be a more feasable task do you think?

I have my own 'shop/garage so feel free to just give me it in nuts and bolts rather than lamens

Ho much wider? Do you have one to hand or pages fron the worshop manual showing the dimensions, usually at the front of the Genuine Mitsubish workshop manuals.

You'd also have to either convert to a 4-link coil sprung rear or weld the leaf mounts onto the 10-bolt housing, as iirc LC's/Celeste's are leaf sprung.
Re the extra track, it's only 10mm or so iirc.

its about 3 inches wider (52.5 and 55.5) you still have space since the celeste body is wider.

I'd most likely weld on the leaf mounts, it's really only the LSD I'm after as the celeste is so light and responsive it's causing the inner wheel to spin alot on cornering.

That is easily within what the arches will allow. If I can't find a better LSD option then I think this will be the rear end I'll be using.

    Thanks guys, very helpful :tu:
