MS75 Crown going under the knife

Well it's time for the Crown to get a redo for it's 40th birthday. I'll try and post pics and keep the build updated

    What it started as...

    Vinyl top is GONE

    C pillar cancer

I fought with this one off and on, but in the end with the surface rust that this thing has under the top, there is no chance that it is going back on. Kind of a bummer cause I love the chrome lines on this thing. Makes it look like a completely different car compared to the other crowns.

im asking this only because i agree with you on the chrome lines, what about painting the part where the vinyl was flat black? that way you can still separate it with the chrome or all the same color still with the chrome. maybe do a photoshop to see the difference.

I kind of have the same thought as you do. I put some tape down on the car to kind of give an idea of what I want to do with the paint.

First set. Just following top line on car and keeping same distance the length of the car

Second Set. Following top line and keeping same distance above wheel wells. (I like this one better)

Crown Logo painted into stripe in orange and black. Stripe will continue across the trunk lid and connect the 2 sides.

So what I am thinking is Black below the stripe. Silver Stripe. Orange above the stripe. Hot rod kind of look but still pretty classy for this car. Didn't want to do racing stripes. just not this car!

Front end missing, fenders coming off next

pieces parts... notice how bad front bumper is bowed. License plate brackets and rubber bumpers are going away for a nice clean look.

i think the smaller line would be better. me personally i dont know if i would have the line go past the trunk.

To me i think the color on top should stop at the trunk unless you wrap the line around the back of the car.

i cant wait to see it finished
