    Learn me on S12 200sx's

    I can't seem to find a good source of info on these cars (I've searched a bit), so if anybody has any good sites please link me. Anyway, I really want to buy one of these. How hard are they to come by? What should I expect to pay for one (in what kind of condition)? Is there a good source of replacement parts or a [somewhat] good aftermarket? Common problems?
    Any info is greatly appreciated! :wink:

    i have a bitter sweet love for them

    had one as a project, one thing after another kept breaking, wasn't worth it to keep going....


    one thing is for certain STAY away from the 86 year. those seem to have the most problems. early cars and the later ones are a lot easier to get answers about.

    There is a member on here with personally one of the nicest S12 Ever. He has a build thread on here you should check it out.

    schassisowner - thanks for the info, but sorry to hear that.

    norcal510 - if you are talking about the RB swapped one, thats actually what got me into them (i saw it in modified mag)

    yeah overall i want to build a (relatively) low-budget drift car that you wouldnt see at an event too often.

    Is that TRUE, about the '86 200SXs, DF? Didn't you have an '86 coupe?

    I have an '87 S12 XE coupe... and I LOVE it. It only has 80,000 original miles, and only needs a paint job. Other, than a weakass front defroster... this car is very RELIABLE, and great on gas. :wink: :tu:

    If you can find one, with no rust or rot... and it's been well taken care of, then GO for it. When, you drive it around, it should turn heads, since they're getting to be very rare, nowadays.

    yea idk it prob is fine if you keep it stock; but to swap engines its the most confusing documented swap.


    i'm not totally against buying one; but i think id only go for an SE and keep it stock :P

    Yes, and zero problems with it, even at 188k miles.

    You probably should have mentioned that then. 8)

    Next time, say "don't buy an '86 if you plan to do an engine swap". :tu:
