    1985 Mazda RX-7

This is my 1985 Mazda RX-7 GSL 12A that I have owner for the last 15 years. It rarely sees the light of day with the exception for a few blasts along my favorite roads on a summer evening with the windows down and the roof panel out.

After all these years and many, many cars in my past (I work in the auto industry so I have driven lots of vehicles over the years) I still never get bored of my RX-7. Sure there are faster cars out there. Better handling cars, more exotic cars, but none offer the same amount of smiles, joy and ecstasy as this RX-7 gives me.

Owning this car you don't need to drink or take drugs, all you need to do is drive!

    Here are some pics...

And some pics from back when I first got it...

Very nice first gen you got! Love the 80s-tastic brown color as well as your ROH Snyper (Sniper?) wheels!

Thanks! I believe that shade of brown, desert metallic was only available in 1985. I can't believe that some one out there actually knows what style my ROH's are!

    Cheers,

Very clean! My 84 gs also came with the Mazda "x" wheels and white letter tires, but I have since replaced them with konig rewinds and a set of toyo proxes. I envy your gsl with its disc brakes and lsd rearend, looks like you've taken good care of it..

Glad to see someone else feels the same way about their RX-7. :tu: As others have said, that colour is fantastic!

    Thanks!

Thanks everyone for all the nice comments! I'll be honest that brown was not my first choice in colour, however over the years I have grown quite fond of it. My girlfriend on the other hand hates it, too 80's for her as she says. But isn't that what makes it so great?

Here is a link to the photo gallery of my RX-7. There is an engine shot and interior shot as well... Enjoy!

Hahahaha... Awww she's alright, I'll keep her around a while longer. She does understand that the car will never go. Maybe she is a bit jealous?
