Hello from New Jersey (lots of pics)

What's up everybody I'm Dan and I DD a 1977 280Z. I've only had the car for a little over a year now so I'm still pretty new to the Japanese classic car scene, but I absolutely love it. A little background on the car, I bought it from a guy in Liverpool, NY under the condition of "fully restored interior, exterior, and engine" and to my dismay it spun a bearing after 2 weeks. So I bought a rebuilt motor from a company called Auto Care Now located in FL, who I later found out to be scammers. That "rebuilt" motor lasted until this past August when it started burning 5qts of oil a week! So after all that I rebuilt it myself and here we are. So now that I've bored everyone with my story I'll get onto the pictures.

    That should work.

    When I got it...

(don't worry those neons were ripped put the next day lol)

Got the valve cover black wrinkle painted

Tokico shocks and springs, smoked headlight covers, 8k hids and yellow fogs

    Painted the lower grill black

I've since changed out all the clear side markers and turn signal lens for the oem amber and red and removed the louvers and little bar and the rear bumper.

Welcome. Not try to pour salt on your wounds but there's a saying, "If you want something done right, you got to do it yourself." It's good to see you got it back on the road again.

Nice looking car. Looks like it was kept well. That front bumper and rear spoiler, definitely not for the purists. Good find, glad to have you.

Yeah I'm not to fond of the bumper and spoiler either. I eventually plan on putting the JDM spec front and rear bumpers on along with a 240Z front lip. Just not on the top of my priority list. I am currently working on the suspension and wheels. Then I'm going to build a turbo motor using the P90 turbo head and F54 block I have from a 81-83 turbo Z. I'm aiming for 250-300whp, safe but fun.

Well, I never said that I wasn't fond of it, but now that you mentioned it, I do think that the Japanese front bumper would be a better match. The car is still clean though and it's cool that you have a safe limit for power. I've heard other guys just pull numbers out of a hat like 1000hp street legal.

Thanks guys. I'll be ordering my rear lower control arms from Techno Toy Tuning on Friday.

Then I'll be saving for a set of ZG fender flares and a set of 17x9f 17x9.5r Rota RB's.
