    Carburated Turbo?

hello to all! I got a question regarding carbuarted turbo's. I have a 82 corolla wagon and I want to Turbo it, but I'm trying to keep cost down. I already have the main ingridients for it (turbo, manifold, upgraded ignition system, aftermarket Mikumi carburator, tubing and intercooler) my question is do I have to upgrade my carb? do they sell carb bonnets for these mikumi carbs? and how much boost can this carb handle? Thanks for the help. Be safe and God Bless the Marines

Mikuni made like 1400 different carbs over the years. Can you narrow it down a bit? :P

and how much boost can this carb handle?
Unless it's been properly pressure sealed, none.

get rid of the mikunis and get a holley and do like they do in south america. i know they make sealed covers to run turbos for the holley carb not to mention with the right engine setup and carb tune you could run somewhere around 25 psi with it. if you need more info ask some of the guys in the toyota boards.

my guess would be to go with a 750-850 cfm carb should make good power. just make sure to put it on the dyno and tune the jets on it so you dont run it too rich or too lean at WOT

You should be able to do that easily. Of course it may only last a few minutes...

TURBO CARB, 22R WITH 20 HEAD

carbs can handle boost.. I boosted 24 lbs on 44mm Mikunis.. As far as the Preasuse box for the carbs....? I had one custom made, it was cheaper.. but you can buy the one they sell for the vw carb turbo kit.. good luck..
