Well good & bad
Got the workshop manual 4 this from Japan
However, now the turbo has gone, have to replace with a new CT9
My hands are a bit big to get into all the little areas needed to pull this apart
Ive spent 2 days all up & am nearly at the stage of dropping the exhaust.
Hopefully that will allow the turbo to come away from the exhaust
If I'm not mistaken this car used to be owned by a guy from Bella Vista about 10 years ago. He was a mate of one of my neighbours when I lived in Castle Hill. It was a fairly quick car.
If you could confirm this, Id like to get hold of some history, ie when it arrived etc
Ok, I'll see what I can do Mark.
I haven't seen my old neighbour in years and not sure where he's living now and if he's still in contact with his mate.
i want one
You, Aussies, are LUCKY... you guys always get the "straight-from-the factory", JDM cars. While, us Americans get the boring, watered-down versions. lol
At least you guys, got the EP71 and later generations of Starlet... along with the nifty Starlet Glanza.
Our version of the Toyota Starlet, began and ended with the KP61.
We didnt get any Starlet till the EP91 & no Glanza, just a basic model
Mine is a personal import & some of the others have been allowed in under various government schemes.
Dont worry, most of the stuff we get is watered down aswell
Weve missed out on heaps of cool Japanese cars
Oh... I thought you guys, did. Then, I think it was Malaysia and the Philippines, that got the various Starlets. In a way, I don't envy them on the KP61 aspect... I think they, only got the 4 door...while we got the cool 2 door.Originally Posted by jonesyGT
Yeah, is it true, you guys only got the fixed nosed Levin version of the AE86 Corolla? Not really a fan of those... it's like putting the nose of a FWD AE82 sedan on an AE86 body. I'm glad, we got the cool flip-up light AE86... the Trueno. :wink:Originally Posted by jonesyGT
You Aussies, are still lucky... at least you guys can legally buy ANY version of Nissan Skyline, 80's Soarers, Toyota Crestas/Chasers, 80's-newer Mazda Cosmos, 1st gen WRXs, and No. 1-7 Mitsubishi Evos.
OK, new pics, tint removed
Still looking for the original wheels & am currently giving it a bit of a polish as its going to the All Japan Day on Nov 13th here in Sydney
