The Not-So-Ultimate Classic JDM Wheel Thread

Ok, so we all know that there's nothing that brings out the true character of a nostalgic car better than slamming it on a set of old skool wheels, right?

With your help, we are hoping to compile a list of the best of classic JDM wheels for your nostalgic ride. Many of these photos have been culled in the past few weeks from ebay, Yahoo Japan auctions, or various forums but please jump in and post your own photos of your own vintage metal hoops, or just images you've come across to add to the collection.

We're not even sure if all the names are correct. We're just going by what the auctions said, so please correct us if you see any mistakes!

Here are the new hoops for my Honda Coupe 9s. Enkei Focus 3 peice wheels. 14x7 cost me $460.00 delivered Sydney to Melbourne inc tyres. The unusual 4x120 PCD meant i got a good deal on them because nobody wanted them..................now I need to find some nice black fender flares!

Those wheels are awesome! Nice find, and nice car as well! I love the old Mugen wheels that nobody seems to have mentioned yet:
    CF48:

Those had a plate that bolted on like the SSR aero wheels up further in the thread, more often than not you can't get those anymore because they're broken.

The black Hayashi's with the cross are Command 500's. The mesh style Hayashi's are 503's aka Perrier.

There was also another old school Hayashi mesh Called Command 700's.

Re: The Ultimate Classic JDM Wheel Thread

    first off, top thread.
didnt realise there were so many different wheels from japan.
love some of the names too... wonder rabbit!! LOL!!

the ones you called "turbines" had a copy made here in australia by Cheviot Wheels, and were called "Hurricane".

these 13" X 6", and are going on my 68 Isuzu Bellett GT, which is now very close to being finished from its restoration.
i actually found these at a swap meet in 2005, brand new!
even better was the price... $100 for the set!

i'll get some pics of my GT on here when its done soon.

    cheers.

Mucho thanks to everyone who's been contributing pics of their wheels. We know this list is far from complete, and probably has some incorrect names in there somewhere. But let's keep them coming!

That is a good question. Some of them are pretty hard to find. Yahoo Japan Auctions is probably your best bet. Unless you know someone in Japan, you'd have to go thru a service like Rinkya.com

Yeah, I'd love to get a set of Wonder Rabbits!

There's been several companies in the US making dupes of some of the classic rim styles. Most notably, the Konig Rewinds, and I forget what company makes the knock-off Work Equips. I'm not judging though, rock em if you got em!
