as drive-by said, Yahoo Auctions Japan is your best bet, utilizing some sort of middleman purchasing service.

I use HayaTonka for all my YAJ needs, and they accept paypal transactions.

be warned though, vintage shelf speakers are NOT cheap, there is a big cult following in Japan especially for the older Pioneer/Carrozzeria Lonesome-Carboy and Centrate branded stuff. I almost bankrupted myself recently simply by getting into a bidding war for some headunits and shelf speakers.

    This man speaks the truth.

I was really dead-set on a pair of these, but having seem a few sets go for like $800, I've now got other priorities.

If I could get some nice ones for a couple hundred bucks, I'd be on it.

You can if you look hard enough. It's also worth doing some copying and pasting certain word you wouldn't think to get a result.

Roll over to bidjdm.com, they're a spinoff of RHDJapan.com. They have an awesome system that allows you to browse yahoo.jp easily and will also translate it for you, then they do the bidding and set up the shipping for you.

Had no idea these old pod speakers were so valuable.

I would never have believed it myself, but "retro" is finally cool amongst the masses so demand is naturally on the rise. Can still remember wreckers and importers throwing them out by the trailerload :?

anyway, I pulled a pair of Carrozzeria light-up shelf speakers out of my DR30 the other week, they're '90s vintage and have that "organic" rounded look to them. (Maybe I should hold on to them in case they are worth something in 2020? :lol

    Replaced them with these
