where do you shop? (focusing on Hakosuka parts..)

looking for all the online spots you get your Hakosuka parts from.

    (especially your L20 stuff..)

i just picked up a '72 two door and will be taking it back to the US with me when i leave japan, so i need some good sites to order my parts from.

    Thanks!

Well the two main places are:

    www.rubber-soul.net and
    www.victory50.com

But depending on what you need, if you need more oem stuff then
    http://www.e-jalopy.info/

...has got lots of stuff, much more than on their website

If you live in Japan id fill the trunk to the brim with parts. Aside from the sites listed above. YAJ is a gold mine for parts.

You should probably pickup the G-works Kgc10 edition if you donít already have it. It has a pretty big list of shops in Japan that sell parts.

Here is a copy of what it looks like..

If you go to victory 50/rubber soul and I send you some money would you mind picking me up some parts?

    "Parts in the trunk"

If you do attempt to ship repair or custom parts back in the trunk, beware. Unless you list them in detail and ensure that they are on the manifest when you turn the vehicle over to the shipper [I assume that the US Army Transportation folks still handle this} you will likely get your car in Oakland with zero packages in the trunk. Also, nothing liquid or flammable allowed, your gas tank will be drained. You will probably get by with the lube oil in the engine, but check before attempting to start it up.

i have a TON of Gworks mags, but never seen the KGC10 editions??
the seller is giving me a HUGE box of nostalgic hero mags, so thats cool. i have some random older parts that came with the car, and i plan to build up a stock pile of the stuff i think will be impossible to find like the brake master cyl, and clutch master cyl. and probably rotors and pads, aside from that i think parts will be easy to get engine wise that is..

any idea where those shops are located? im in the USAF and stationed WAYYYYYYYY up north... Misawa to be exact.

Victory50 is in Tokyo (but their showroom is open on appointment only), Rubber-Soul is in Osaka I think and e-Jalopy is in Saitama (I think)

    Parts

Get a copy of the current Japanese Car and Driver magazine. You will find ads offering real goodies, OEM and aftermarket. Also personal ads, you will need to get friendly with a translator if you have not already done so, to plow through those. The good news is that under the Status of Forces agreements you can get the commercial ad parts delivered to you at Misawa Air Base tax free. If all else fails, go to the BX Concessions, look up the concessioneer that sells new cars and see if they can order the parts from Car and Driver for you. The local Stars and Stripes and base paper often have used car and auto parts ads also, I used to be able to access them through the internet but since 911 access has been shut off. Good luck with the import effort, we need to see really fine Japanese cars!
